Coulee Region downs Austin, 6-2

James Hughes tallied two points to lead the Coulee Region Chill to a 6-2 victory over the Austin Bruins.

Coulee Region stifled Austin's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Chill found the back of the net more times than it usually has this season. This season, Coulee Region averages 2.7 goals per contest. The Chill's offense was clicking better than usual and put 41 shots on goal during the game, better than the 25.5 shots per game they average.

Coulee Region also got points from Ben Jaremko, who also finished with one goal and one assist and Eric Drapluk, who also had one goal and one assist. Coulee Region also got a goal from Patrick Steinhauser as well. More assists for Coulee Region came via Myles Maltz, who had two and Adam Thomas, Ryan Jaremko, Mac Jansen, and Jake Useldinger, who contributed one a piece.

The Bruins' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three Coulee Region power plays. Austin put 31 shots on net during the contest, more than the 25.2 it averages per game.

The Bruins were led by Matt Hansen, who racked up one goal and one assist. Hansen scored 3:53 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Austin. Charlie Adams assisted on the tally. Jeremy Finger also scored for Austin. In addition, Austin received assists from AJ Reid, who had one.

Coulee Region's Aaron Davis stopped 29 shots out of the 31 that he faced. The Chill incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Nicholas Lehr rejected 35 shots on goal for Austin. The Bruins incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
