Alaska falls to Kenai River in overtime, 3-2 (OT)

The Kenai River Brown Bears pulled out a 3-2 (OT) overtime victory over the Alaska Avalanche on a clutch goal by Sean Muller.

Kenai River was led by Muller, who tallied one goal and one assist. Muller scored 2:25 into overtime to make the score 3-2 Kenai River. Brett Lubanski picked up the assist.

Matt Thompson also scored for Kenai River. More assists for Kenai River came via Jesse Ramsey and Chris Blessing, who each chipped in one.

Alaska excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in five chances.

The Avalanche were helped by Cobi Smith-Mass, who finished with one goal. Smith-Mass scored 18:52 into the second period to make the score 1-0 Alaska. Connor Wright assisted on the tally. Alaska also got a goal from Tanner Fahlstedt as well. In addition, Alaska received assists from Evan Hesse, Kevin Novakovich, and Jeff Bergh, who contributed one a piece.

Austin Severson made 24 saves for the Brown Bears on 26 shots. Kenai River incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. Nick Kulmanovsky recorded 25 saves for Alaska. The Avalanche incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
