Pauly leads Wenatchee over Fresno, 6-0

Shawn Pauly was all over the ice for the Wenatchee Wild, as he tallied one goal and two assists in Wenatchee's 6-0 win over the Fresno Monsters.

Pauly scored 32 seconds into the first period to make the score 1-0 Wenatchee. Max McHugh picked up the assist. Pauly dished an assist on Chris Kerr's goal that made the score 3-0 Wenatchee at 18:14 into the first period. He added another helper on Kerr's goal that made the score 5-0 Wenatchee at 12:45 into the second period.

The Wild pulled out the victory even though they were hit with 24 penalty minutes.

Wenatchee forced Fresno's netminders to work hard to keep the puck out of the net, racking up 31 shots and forcing 25 saves. Tomas Sholl made 15 stops and Macauley Haight made 10. The Wild excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in seven chances. Wenatchee surpassed its usual scoring output this season. The Wild have scored at the pace of 2.7 goals per game during the current campaign.

Wenatchee additionally got points from Kerr, who also registered two goals and one assist, Matt Cope, who also tallied one goal and one assist, and Ben Carey, who also racked up two goals and one assist to lead the team in points. In addition, Wenatchee received assists from Chris Knudson, who had two and Kyle Huson, Tyler Rostenkowski, and Trace Redmond, who contributed one a piece.

The Monsters could not produce up to they normal offensive output. Fresno averages 2.8 goals per game. The Monsters' defensemen bolstered Fresno's offensive attack, as they bombarded Robert Nichols with 10 shots.

The Monsters were led by Jeffrey Pauluk, who took six shots.

Nichols rejected 22 shots on goal for Wenatchee. The Wild registered one goal on two power play opportunities. Fresno incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
