Austin boosted by Bruggeman's play in net, beats Coulee Region 2-1Omni Center Fri, Mar 30, 2012 Story by Narrative Science.
Tyler Bruggeman stood on his head and made 33 saves to lead the Austin Bruins to a 2-1 victory over the Coulee Region Chill. Austin was led by Jeremy Finger, who finished with one goal. Finger scored 11:55 into the third period to make the score 2-1 Austin. Brandon Wahlin provided the assist. The Bruins stifled Coulee Region's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The 40 shots that Austin put on net surpassed the Bruins' average of 26.9 shots per game this season. AJ Reid also scored for Austin. In addition, Austin received assists from Charlie Adams, who had one. The Chill's offense was clicking better than usual and put 34 shots on goal during the game, better than the 24.5 shots per game they average. Coulee Region was led by Chris Hughes, who scored the team's only goal. Hughes scored 4:20 into the third period to make the score 1-1. Jake Useldinger picked up the assist. Austin incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors and had no power play opportunities. The Chill's Aaron Davis stopped 38 shots out of the 40 that he faced. Coulee Region ended with no penalties and went 0-for-3 on the power play.
