Kevin Novakovich had one goal and three assists to lead the Alaska Avalanche to a 6-3 victory over the Fairbanks Ice Dogs.

Novakovich got on the board by slotting home a goal 17:21 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Alaska. Cody Bisbing assisted on the tally. Novakovich dished an assist on Justin Lutsch's goal that made the score 1-0 Alaska at 1:30 into the first period. He then added assists on Brandon Brossoit's goal at 8:53 into the second and on Brossoit's goal at 13:04 into the second.

Alaska was often in penalty trouble, totaling four minors and three majors for 43 minutes in penalty time. The total exceeded the 20.0 minutes per game the Avalanche had been spending in the box. Alaska's goal total was higher than its season average. The Avalanche average 3.2 goals per game.

Fairbanks was helped by Max Birkinbine, who registered one goal. Birkinbine scored 43 seconds into the second period to make the score 2-1 Alaska. Pavlo Padakin picked up the assist. Fairbanks also got a goal from Garret Clemment as well. Other players who recorded assists for Fairbanks were Tayler Munson, who had one.

Bodhi Engum recorded 22 saves for Alaska. The Avalanche registered zero goals on one power play opportunities. Alex Fons made 16 saves for the Ice Dogs on 19 shots. Fairbanks totaled 39 minutes in penalty time with two minors and three majors and went 1-for-4 on the power play.
