The Topeka RoadRunners' Ben Bahe had a big offensive game, scoring two goals and contributing one assist in his team's 5-2 win over the Wichita Falls Wildcats. Bahe's tallies came at 4:34 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Topeka and 34 seconds into the second to make the score 3-1 Topeka.Topeka pulled out the victory even though it was hit with 84 penalty minutes. Referees had their hands full with a major incident at 15:03 into the first period. Three fighting penalties were dished out along with two game misconducts. The RoadRunners excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in seven chances. The 41 shots that Topeka put on net surpassed the RoadRunners' average of 23.8 shots per game this season. Topeka additionally got points from Dan Dupell, who also registered one goal and one assist and Jake Lynes, who also had two goals and one assist. Other players who recorded assists for Topeka were Sean Gaffney, who had two and Luke Veitch, Andrew OLeary, Willem Nong-Lambert, and Chris Bond, who each chipped in one. Wichita Falls forced its penalty killing units to work especially hard during the game, picking up 16 minors and three majors for 107 minutes in penalty time. The Wildcats surpassed its season average of 19.0 penalty minutes per game. Wichita Falls' offense was clicking better than usual and put 25 shots on goal during the game, better than the 21.6 shots per game it averages. The Wildcats were led by Zach Pochiro, who finished with one goal. Pochiro scored 13:17 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Topeka. Damien Lona provided the assist. Patrick Yudez also scored for Wichita Falls. More assists for Wichita Falls came via Nash Worden, who had one. Topeka's Collin LeMay stopped 23 shots out of the 25 that he faced. The RoadRunners registered one goal on nine power play opportunities. Topeka ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Kyle Sharkey was ejected from the game. Jo Jo Jeanetta made 36 saves for Wichita Falls on 41 shots. Team's Rodney Lalonde and Renato Engler were slapped with misconducts and ejected from the game.
