Wichita Falls wins tough contest against Topeka, 4-3

The game between the Wichita Falls Wildcats and the Topeka RoadRunners was tight through all 60 minutes, but in the end Wichita Falls emerged with a 4-3 win.

Each team kept the other at bay throughout the game, and George Pagonis secured the win for the Wildcats with a goal in the third period.

Brennen Parker had two goals to lead Wichita Falls to victory. Parker scored at 14:23 into the first period to make the score 1-1 and again while on the power play 3:30 into the second to make the score 3-1 Wichita Falls.

The Wildcats' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three Topeka power plays.

Wichita Falls also got a goal from Jakob Batcha as well. Other players who recorded assists for Wichita Falls were Zach Pochiro, who had two and Renato Engler, Pat Thompson, and Chris Pontello, who contributed one a piece.

Topeka's offense was clicking better than usual and put 41 shots on goal during the game, better than the 26.0 shots per game it averages.

The RoadRunners were helped by Brian Christie, who finished with one goal. Christie scored 9:35 into the second period to make the score 3-2 Wichita Falls. Jake Lynes provided the assist. Topeka also got points from Richard Young, who also registered one goal and one assist. Chris Bond also scored for Topeka. In addition, Topeka received assists from Mick Bruce, who had one.

Wichita Falls' Jo Jo Jeanetta stopped 38 shots out of the 41 that he faced. The Wildcats incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Collin LeMay rejected 16 shots on goal for Topeka. The RoadRunners incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
