Austin erases deficit to stun Minot, 5-3Maysa Arena Thu, Mar 08, 2012 Story by Narrative Science.
The Austin Bruins rallied from three goals down to secure a 5-3 win over the Minot Minotauros. Austin never led in the game until netting the game winner. The Bruins trailed 3-0 after a goal by Minot's Denis Dalidovich at 7:14 in the second period. Austin knotted things up at 3-3 on a goal by Jake Flynn at 11:26 in the third period. The Bruins scored the game winner at 13:40 in the third period on a goal by Flynn. Matt Hansen had two goals to lead Austin to victory. Hansen's tallies came on the power play at 36 seconds into the third period to make the score 3-1 Minot and 15:53 into the third to make the score 5-3 Austin. By firing 46 shots on goal, the Bruins exceeded the 28.1 shots they average per game this year. Austin also got points from AJ Reid, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Austin also got a goal from Chris Fischer as well. Other players who recorded assists for Austin were Jonathan Gehrt, who had two and Christian Folin, Charlie Adams, Colton Kramer, John Kirby, Brandon Wahlin, and CJ Smith, who each chipped in one. With 21 shots on target during the contest, the Minotauros exceeded the 15.5 shots they average per game this year. Minot was helped by Mason Morelli, who registered one goal. Morelli scored 1:45 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Minot. Matt Audette provided the assist. Seth Blair also scored for Minot. More assists for Minot came via Kelvin Walz, Brian Farkas, Jadin Martin, and Hans Drawbert, who contributed one a piece. Tyler Bruggeman recorded 18 saves for Austin. The Bruins totaled 11 minutes in penalty time with three minors and one major and went 1-for-4 on the power play. Jake Hebda made 41 saves for the Minotauros on 46 shots. Minot totaled 15 minutes in penalty time with five minors and one major and went 0-for-2 on the power play.
