Hughes' big game bests Janesville in 3-1 St. Louis win

Behind a great game by Rance Hughes, who had two goals and one assist, the St. Louis Bandits defeated the Janesville Jets, 3-1.

Hughes' tallies came at 6:57 into the second period to make the score 2-1 St. Louis and 19:04 into the third to make the score 3-1 St. Louis.

St. Louis was below its usual level of shot production, taking 20 shots compared to the 29.1 the Bandits average.

St. Louis also got points from Ryan Stouffer, who also registered one goal and one assist. In addition, St. Louis received assists from Brett Bauza, who had one and Joe Kalisz, who had two.

Janesville was led by Jake Horton, who scored the team's only goal. Horton scored 1:39 into the second period to make the score 1-1. Jayce Paulseth provided the assist.

Tyler Green made 24 saves for St. Louis on 25 shots. The Bandits incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. Tony Kujava rejected 17 shots on goal for the Jets. Janesville incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with two minors.
