Austin beats Coulee Region 7-4 as Hansen gets hat trick

A hat trick by Matt Hansen was the highlight in Bruins' 7-4 win against the Coulee Region Chill.

Hansen got on the scoresheet 3:52 into the second period. He then added goals at 11:04 into the second and at 45 seconds into the third.

The Austin Bruins surpassed their usual scoring output this season. Austin has scored at the pace of 3.2 goals per game during the current campaign. By firing 32 shots on goal, the Bruins exceeded the 26.9 shots they average per game this year.

Austin additionally got points from Charlie Adams, who also grabbed one goal and one assist and AJ Reid, who also had one goal and three assists. John Simonson also scored for Austin. Other players who recorded assists for Austin were Jonathan Gehrt, who had two and Trevor Waldoch, Jake Flynn, Chris Fischer, Austin Nelson, John Kirby, and Brandon Wahlin, who each chipped in one.

Coulee Region was led by Jake Useldinger, who tallied two goals and two assists. Useldinger scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 6:30 into the first period to make the score 1-1. The Chill had taken the advantage when Austin's Adams got sent off for hooking. Matt Blomquist picked up the assist. Useldinger's next tally on the power play made the score 7-3 Austin with 11:10 left in the third period. Adam Thomas assisted on the tally. Coulee Region also got a goal from Ben Jaremko as well.

Tyler Bruggeman recorded 20 saves for the Bruins. Austin totaled 25 minutes in penalty time with five minors and one major and went 2-for-6 on the power play. Coulee Region's Aaron Davis stopped 25 shots out of the 32 that he faced. The Chill totaled 25 minutes in penalty time with five minors and one major and went 1-for-5 on the power play.
