Cleveland's West deadly on offense in 6-1 win against Metro

Behind a great game by Fred West, who had two goals, the Cleveland Jr. Lumberjacks defeated the Metro Jets, 6-1.

West's tallies came on the power play at 7:14 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Cleveland and on the power play 48 seconds into the second to make the score 4-0 Cleveland.

Cleveland forced Jets' netminders to work in net, finishing with 42 shots and forcing 36 saves. Dillon Kelley made 17 stops and Andrew Brownlee made 19.

Cleveland also got points from Kyle Fink, who also finished with one goal and one assist and David Fassbender, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Cleveland also got a goal from Jon Bayer as well. In addition, Cleveland received assists from Andrew Mitch, Zach Seither, and Kevin Mansolill, who contributed one a piece.

Metro's offense operated below it season average. The Jets average 4.3 goals per game.

Tommy Kilgore also scored for Metro. Other players who recorded assists for Metro were Josh Beleski and Matt Stemkoski, who each chipped in one.

The Jr. Lumberjacks' Alexander Larson stopped 22 shots out of the 23 that he faced. Cleveland incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Metro incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with nine minors.
