Dichiara leads St. Louis over Janesville, 5-1

The St. Louis Bandits relied on the sparkling performance of Tyler Green in net to grab a 5-1 win against the Janesville Jets.

Frank Dichiara had one goal and two assists to lead St. Louis. Dichiara scored 14:27 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Wes Elrod picked up the assist.

The Bandits excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in five chances. St. Louis relied on a core group of players for most of its offense, as Cody Ganchar, Joe Kalisz and Dichiara took 18 of the team's 30 shots.

More assists for St. Louis came via Charlie Hemstrom, Rance Hughes, and Ryan Stouffer, who each chipped in one and TJ Sherman and Joseph Birmingham, who contributed two a piece.

Janesville's defense let in more goals than it usually has this year. The Jets are averaging 2.2 goals against for the season. Janesville's offense was clicking better than usual and put 37 shots on goal during the game, better than the 31.6 shots per game it averages.

The Jets were led by Jordan Bancroft, who scored the team's only goal. Bancroft scored 7:52 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Janesville. John Olen assisted on the tally.

Green recorded 36 saves for the Bandits. St. Louis incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Janesville's starting goalie, Tony Kujava, made 18 saves and finished with the loss before he was taken out in favor of Brock Kautz, who stopped seven shots. The Jets incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
