Austin holds on for 5-4 win against AberdeenOdde Ice Center Sat, Feb 25, 2012 Story by Narrative Science.
The Aberdeen Wings tried their best to erase a two-goal deficit, but the Austin Bruins would not be denied the victory and hung on to win, 5-4. A goal by Chris Fischer put Austin up 5-3 in the third period, but Aberdeen pulled to within one on Paul Prescott's tally 15:51 into the third period. By firing 31 shots on goal, the Bruins exceeded the 25 shots they average per game this year. Austin additionally got points from Fischer, who also racked up one goal and one assist and Charlie Adams, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Austin got a goal from Chase McDonald as well. More assists for Austin came via AJ Reid, who had two and Christian Folin, Nolan Kirley, Austin Nelson, Matt Hansen, and Colton Kramer, who contributed one each. The Wings' offense efficiently hummed along to the tune of 39 shots put on Austin's net. Aberdeen also got points from Prescott, who also grabbed one goal and two assists. Tyler Dunagan also scored for Aberdeen. In addition, Aberdeen received assists from Wes Judnick, Mack Ohnsted, Kevin Becker, CJ Reuschlein, Mike Parnell, and Oliver Widding-Persson, who each chipped in one. Tyler Bruggeman made 35 saves for the Bruins on 39 shots. Austin totaled 16 minutes in penalty time with three minors and two majors and went 1-for-2 on the power play. Reid Mimmack recorded 26 saves for Aberdeen. The Wings totaled 14 minutes in penalty time with two minors and two majors and went 1-for-3 on the power play.
