Moore's big game bests Minot in 5-2 Bismarck win

Patrick Moore was all over the ice for the Bismarck Bobcats, as he tallied one goal and three assists in Bismarck's 5-2 win over the Minot Minotauros.

Moore got on the board by slotting home a goal 9:39 into the second period to make the score 5-1 Bismarck. Bryce Schmitt assisted on the tally. Moore dished an assist on Schmitt's goal that made the score 2-0 Bismarck at 6:59 into the first period. He then added assists on Ryan Callahan's goal at 19:02 into the first and on Danny Ray's goal at 5:10 into the second.

The Bobcats were held back by their power play unit, which tallied one goal on 10 chances. Bismarck put 43 shots on net during the contest, more than the 36 it averages per game.

Bismarck also got points from Schmitt, who also had one goal and one assist and Moore, who also grabbed one goal and three assists. Bismarck got a goal from Castan Sommer as well. Other players who recorded assists for Bismarck were Buster Hebda and John Furgele, who each chipped in one and Jeremy OKeefe and Tyler Richter, who contributed two each.

The 19 shots that Minot put on net surpassed the Minotauros' average of 17 shots per game this season. Minot was hit hard by penalties in the contest, and totaled nine minors and one majorfor 23 minutes in penalty time. The leading offender was Tim Donohue, who totaled five minutes in penalty time with one major.

The Minotauros were helped by Carl Krieger, who finished with one goal. Krieger scored 2:06 into the third period to make the score 5-2 Bismarck. Brian Farkas picked up the assist. Austin Hoff also scored for Minot. In addition, Minot received assists from Matt Audette, who had one.

Tommy Burke turned away 17 pucks between the pipes for the Bobcats. Bismarck ended with nine minutes in penalty time with two minors and one major. Tim Shaughnessy took the loss and made 19 saves before being replaced by Jake Hebda who made 19 saves. Minot registered zero goals on one power play opportunities.
