Jacob Meyers was superb between the pipes for the Alexandria Blizzard, as he did not allow a goal in a 2-0 victory over the Coulee Region Chill. Alexandria's penalty kill excelled, as the Blizzard gave up zero goals despite allowing seven power plays. Both teams had a hard time staying out of the box, and they combined for 15 penalties during the game. Alexandria stifled Coulee Region's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Blizzard's defense was surprisingly good. Alexandria gives up two goals on average per game. With 41 shots on target during the contest, the Blizzard exceeded the 30 shots they average per game this year. Alexandria was forced to rely heavily on their penalty kill unit throughout the game, as it racked up 16 penalty minutes. The leading offender was Aidan Cavallini, who totaled four minutes in penalty time with two minors. The Blizzard were led by Seth Ronsberg, who tallied one goal and one assist. Ronsberg scored on the power play 13:10 into the second period to make the score 1-0 Alexandria. Alexandria had gained a power play chance when Micah Ranum was whistled for checking from behind. Charlie Aus assisted on the tally. Alexandria also got points from Ronsberg, who also finished with one goal and one assist. Alexandria got a goal from Thomas Williams as well. In addition, Alexandria received assists from Justin Moody and Tucker Coborn, who contributed one each. The Chill were held below their usual level of production. Coulee Region puts an average of two pucks into the net per game. The 30 shots that the Chill put on net surpassed Coulee Region's average of 27 shots per game this season. The Chill found themselves short handed often, totaling 14 penalty minutes and allowing six power plays. The leading offender was Ranum, who totaled four minutes in penalty time with two minors. Coulee Region was led by Jake Useldinger, who took four shots. Meyers recorded 30 saves for the Blizzard. Aaron Davis made 39 saves for the Chill on 41 shots.
