Janesville beats Port Huron 4-0 as Kujava gains shutout

Tony Kujava recorded a shutout against the Port Huron Fighting Falcons as the Janesville Jets picked up a 4-0 win.

Eric Carlson had a great game for Janesville, netting two goals. Carlson's tallies came at 9:31 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Janesville and on the power play 10:59 into the third to make the score 4-0 Janesville.

The Jets excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in six chances. Janesville featured an improved defense during the game. The Jets average two goals allowed per game. Janesville's offense was clicking better than usual and put 40 shots on goal during the game, better than the 30 shots per game it averages.

John Olen also scored for Janesville. In addition, Janesville received assists from Conor Lemirande and Lawrence Childs, who contributed one each and Garrett Cecere, Connor McBride, and Pijus Rulevicius, who each chipped in two.

Port Huron's offense operated below it season average. The Fighting Falcons put an average of three pucks into the net per game.

Port Huron was led by Ian Miller, who took five shots.

Tony Kujava made 29 saves for the Jets on 29 shots. Janesville incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. The Fighting Falcons' Max Milosek stopped 36 shots out of the 40 that he faced. Port Huron incurred 22 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
