Janesville vanquishes Jamestown in shootout, 2-1 (1-0 SO)

Three periods of regulation and an overtime session were not enough to settle matters as the Janesville Jets defeated the Jamestown Ironmen in a shootout 2-1 (1-0 SO).

The shootout featured 10 attempts between both teams.

Janesville came back from a one-goal deficit to capture the victory. The Jets was down 1-0 after a goal by Jamestown's Zack Szajner at 7:52 in the first period. Janesville knotted things up at 1-1 on a goal by Jake Horton at 14:23 in the first period.

The Jets' Tony Kujava was a brick wall in net, as he came up with 25 saves and let only one puck past him. Kujava managed to improve on his goals against average, which stood at 1.7 prior to the game.

Janesville put 38 shots on net during the contest, more than the 31 it averages per game.

The Ironmen put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow the Jets to score on any of their three power plays. With 26 shots on target during the contest, Jamestown exceeded the 22 shots it averages per game this year.
