Three periods of regulation and an overtime session were not enough to settle matters as the Aberdeen Wings defeated the Austin Bruins in a shootout 4-3 (2-0 SO). The shootout featured nine attempts between both teams. Aberdeen's other shootout goal was scored by CJ Reuschlein.The Wings overcame a one-goal deficit to capture the victory. Aberdeen fell behind 3-2 after a goal by Austin's Charlie Adams at 4:30 in the third period. The Wings tied things up at 3-3 on a power play goal by Reuschlein at 16:54 in the third period. Aberdeen's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three Austin power plays. With 37 shots on target during the contest, the Bruins exceeded the 27 shots they average per game this year. Aberdeen got a goal from Cory Ward as well.
