Coulee Region hangs on, beats Springfield 5-3Omni Center Fri, Feb 17, 2012 Story by Narrative Science.
The Coulee Region Chill beat the Springfield Jr. Blues, 5-3, in a contest where the winning goal was scored in the first period but the game remained close throughout. A goal 4:54 into the the first period by Chris Hughes proved to be the game winner, and powered Coulee Region to the victory Eric Drapluk provided the assist.Mac Jansen had two goals to lead the Chill to victory. Jansen scored at 39 seconds into the second period to make the score 3-1 Coulee Region and again while on the power play 14:47 into the third to make the score 5-3 Coulee Region. Coulee Region outdid its season average for goals scored. The Chill average two goals per game. Coulee Region put 41 shots on net during the contest, more than the 28 it averages per game. Coulee Region got a goal from Cory Lushanko as well. Other players who recorded assists for Coulee Region were Jake Useldinger, who had two and Ryan Jaremko, Ben Jaremko, and Micah Ranum, who each chipped in one. Lushanko also scored for Coulee Region.
