Zelzer, Aberdeen blank Minot, 4-0

Marcus Zelzer recorded a shutout against the Minot Minotauros as the Aberdeen Wings picked up a 4-0 win.

Aberdeen was paced by Justin Parizek, who registered one goal. Parizek scored on the power play 46 seconds into the second period to make the score 1-0 Aberdeen. Trevor Husch picked up the assist.

The Wings forced opposing goalies to work and stay ready, finishing with 32 shots and forcing 28 saves. Jake Hebda made 14 stops and Tim Shaughnessy made 14. Aberdeen put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Minot to score on any of its five power plays. The Wings' defensive effort looked to be improved. Aberdeen averages two goals allowed per game.

Tyler Dunagan also scored for Aberdeen. More assists for Aberdeen came via Wes Judnick, Mack Ohnsted, CJ Reuschlein, Shayne McLaughlin, Paul Prescott, and Mike Parnell, who each chipped in one.

With 38 shots on target during the contest, the Minotauros exceeded the 17 shots they average per game this year.

Minot was led by Hans Drawbert, who took five shots.

Zelzer recorded 38 saves for the Wings. Aberdeen incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. The Minotauros incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
