Hawkesbury completes comeback, beats Pembroke, 3-2Pembroke Memorial Center Sun, Mar 04, 2012 Story by Narrative Science.
The Pembroke Lumber Kings could not hold down the Hawkesbury Hawks, and Hawks erased a two-goal deficit en route to a 3-2 win. Hawkesbury never led in the game until netting the game winner. The Hawks fell behind 2-0 after a goal by Pembroke's Trevor Packard at 1:50 in the second period. Hawkesbury tied things up at 2-2 on a goal by Brandon Bussey at 2:41 in the third period. The Hawks scored the game winner short handed at 4:40 in the third period on a goal by Bussey. Holden Anderson was all over the ice for Hawkesbury, as he grabbed two goals in the win. The Hawks excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in seven chances. Team's forwards weren't the only contributers offensively, and the team's defensemen showcased their scoring touch with two goals. Hawkesbury was forced to rely heavily on their penalty kill unit throughout the game, as it racked up 20 penalty minutes. In addition, Hawkesbury received assists from Anthony Sanniti, who had two and Philippe Saviuk, Antonio Roumeliotis, Remi Elie, and Carl Faucher, who contributed one a piece. The Lumber Kings' offense rang up 35 shots on the Hawks' net. Pembroke found itself short handed often, totaling 14 penalty minutes and allowing three power plays. Nathan Siydock also scored for Pembroke. Other players who recorded assists for Pembroke were Will Seeber, Tom Hilbrich, Chris King, and Swann Boisvert, who each chipped in one. Michael Comitini rejected 33 shots on goal for Hawkesbury. Francis Dupuis recorded 27 saves for the Lumber Kings.
