The Kemptville 73s survived a determined comeback attempt by the Gloucester Rangers on the way to a 5-4 win. Kemptville made the score 4-2 on a goal by Steven Genier at 9:06 in the second period, and Gloucester got as close as 4-3 when Jamie Molinski scored 9:26 into the third period. The 73s managed to stay out of the box better than usual, registering one minor for two minutes in penalty time. Kemptville finished below its season average of 19.0 penalty minutes per game. The 73s kept the Rangers' goalie busy throughout the game, and Doug Johnston made 26 saves on 31 shots. Kemptville found the back of the net more times than it usually has this season. The 73s have scored at the pace of 2.6 goals per game during the current campaign. Kemptville was led by Stevie Ray Adams, who finished with three goals. Kemptville additionally got points from Eric Cornel, who also had one goal and one assist. In addition, Kemptville received assists from Stephen Keisler, Jesse Ferras, Cedric Lacroix, and Cody Hendsbee, who each chipped in one and Alex Row and Alex Bouchey, who contributed two a piece. Gloucester was led by Alexandre Boivin, who grabbed two goals and one assist. Boivin scored the first of his two goals at 4:31 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Kemptville. Zackary Rheaume picked up the assist. Boivin's next tally made the score 4-4 with 10:28 left in the third period. Travis Meyer provided the assist. Brett Varrin also scored for Gloucester. Other players who recorded assists for Gloucester were Michael McMurtry and Miguel Laurin, who each chipped in one. The 73s' Travis Wilkins stopped 25 shots out of the 29 that he faced. Kemptville registered one goal on two power play opportunities. The Rangers incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors.
