Packard lifts Pembroke over Gloucester, 9-1

Trevor Packard was all over the ice for the Pembroke Lumber Kings, as he tallied four goals in Pembroke's 9-1 win over the Gloucester Rangers.

Packard's first goal came 45 seconds into the first period. He then added goals at 17:51 into the first, at 13:24 into the second, and at 4:27 into the third.

The Lumber Kings made Rangers' goaltenders to work all game long, taking 41 shots and forcing 32 saves. Sebastian Gratton made 22 stops and Gunner Rivers made 10. Pembroke's goal total was higher than its season average. The Lumber Kings average three goals per game.

Pembroke also got points from Swann Boisvert, who also tallied one goal and two assists, Brandon Gagne, who also registered one goal and one assist, and Geoff Gallagher, who also had one goal and one assist. Pembroke got a goal from Patrice Wren as well. Other players who recorded assists for Pembroke were Will Seeber, Tom Hilbrich, Evan De Haan, Zach Loesch, Ben Dalpe, and Justin Stevens, who contributed one each and Tyler Gaudet and Liam Biard, who each chipped in two.

The Gloucester penalty box was a busy place as the team totaled six minors and one major for 17 minutes in penalty time. The Rangers had been averaging 14 minutes in penalties per game. Gloucester found itself stymied offensively, and got off a mere 14 shots against Pembroke's defense.

The Rangers were led by Alexandre Boivin, who scored the team's only goal. Boivin scored on the power play 12:04 into the third period to make the score 7-1 Pembroke. Gloucester had gotten the advantage when the Lumber Kings' Hilbrich was sent off for hooking. Jacob Jammes picked up the assist.

Pembroke's Francis Dupuis stopped 13 shots out of the 14 that he faced. The Lumber Kings totaled 15 minutes in penalty time with five minors and one major and went 2-for-7 on the power play. For Pembroke, Dalpe was ejected from the game. The Rangers registered one goal on five power play opportunities. Gloucester ran into disciplinary problems during the contest, and Travis Meyer was ejected from the game.
