Kemptville outlasts Kanata, 3-2Kanata Recreational Complex Tue, Feb 14, 2012 Story by Narrative Science.
The game between the Kemptville 73s and the Kanata Stallions was tight through all 60 minutes, but in the end Kemptville emerged with a 3-2 win. No lead was more than one goal during the contest, and the winning goal was scored by Stevie Ray Adams at 15:47 of the third period. Adams had two goals to lead the 73s to victory. Kemptville excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances. Blaine Byron also scored for Kemptville. More assists for Kemptville came via Steven Genier and Alex Bouchey, who each chipped in one. Kanata's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on four Kemptville power plays. The Stallions were helped by Brandon Petrie, who finished with one goal. Petrie scored 14:29 into the second period to make the score 1-0 Kanata. Devin Cobbold picked up the assist. Kanata got a goal from Brent Bisdee as well. Other players who recorded assists for Kanata were Fabian Walsh, who had one. The 73s' Travis Wilkins stopped 27 shots out of the 29 that he faced. Kemptville incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Brandon Lane made 24 saves for Kanata on 27 shots. The Stallions incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
