Ottawa downs Pembroke, 2-1

Pembroke Memorial Center    Sun, Feb 12, 2012

Devon Rice had one point to lead the Ottawa Senators to a 2-1 victory over the Pembroke Lumber Kings.

Pembroke was unable to stop Ottawa from sending pucks towards the net, and the Senators eventually piled up 36 shots on goal.

Ottawa got a goal from Ben Robillard as well. More assists for Ottawa came via Paul Landry, Mathieu Desautels, and Conor Brown, who contributed one each.

The Lumber Kings did not reach the goal total they have come to expect this season. Pembroke averages three goals per game.

The Lumber Kings were led by Nathan Siydock, who scored the team's only goal. Siydock scored on the power play 17:53 into the second period to make the score 1-1. Pembroke had gotten the advantage when Ottawa's Kevin Ryder was sent off for hooking. Chris King picked up the assist.

Ed Zdolshek turned away 18 pucks between the pipes for the Senators. Ottawa incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Francis Dupuis recorded 34 saves for the Lumber Kings. Pembroke incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
