Doughboys' Lynch deadly on offense in 8-6 win against Grizzlies

Behind a great game by Pat Lynch, who had five goals, Doughboys defeated Grizzlies, 8-6.

Lynch's first goal came 2:50 into the first period. He then added goals at 47 seconds into the second, at 12:53 into the second, at 2:56 into the third, and at 6:04 into the third.

Doughboys managed to stay out of the box better than usual, registering one minor for two minutes in penalty time. Doughboys finished below its season average of 4.0 penalty minutes per game. Grizzlies was unable to stop Doughboys from sending pucks towards the net, and Doughboys eventually piled up 48 shots on goal.

Doughboys additionally got points from Frank Tadeo, who also grabbed one goal and two assists and Jason Layton, who also finished with one goal and two assists. Anthony Cooke also scored for Doughboys. In addition, Doughboys received assists from John Leston and Jesse Trovato, who contributed one each.

Grizzlies forced Doughboys goalie Albin Wicki to work between the pipes, taking 43 shots. Grizzlies got an offensive boost from its blueliners, who contributed two goals during the game.

Wicki rejected 37 shots on goal for Doughboys. Doughboys registered zero goals on two power play opportunities. Tyler Theibault recorded 40 saves for Grizzlies. Grizzlies incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors.
