ASHL SUMMER PLAYOFFSOnly players pre-printed on the playoff roster sheets are eligible for playoff games.  If a player’s name does not appear on the playoff roster, they cannot play.  Each series is a 2 game series.  There is no overtime if Game 1 is a tie at the end of regulation.  Game 2 will determine the series winner.  If after Game 2 the series is tied (either 2 ties, or each team with a win), the series immediately moves to the sudden victory format.  Semi-finals and finals will be played as single game elimination, and will use the sudden victory format as follows to determine a winner if necessary.  Period 4:  5 minute 3 on 3 – player changes are allowed on whistles.  Period 5:  Shootout – 3 player shootout, followed by single players as necessary.  Players cannot shoot twice until all players have taken a shot.  The deciding factor will be smaller bench strength before a player is eligible to take a second shot.  Any penalty in the 4th period that has not expired will eliminate the penalized player from shootout participation.
