| Game Notes |
|
Originally a five man shootout took place at the end of the game. However, as confirmed by the hockey director Pete Friesema, during the regular season all shootouts are to be three man shootouts followed by sudden death. Shootouts consisting of five players take place only in the playoffs. So although the Rangers would have one in a five man shootout, the Blackhawks won in three and collect the victory.
