Knights Jordan Simmonds to Attend Wentworth

The Atlanta Junior Knights are proud to announce that 1993 forward Jordan Simmonds from Commerce, MI has committed to play NCAA college hockey for the Wentworth Institute of Technology Leopards in the fall.

Simmonds played 77 games in two seasons with the Atlanta Knights, making 34 goals and 42 assists to post a total of 75 points, including 12 power play goals, 13 power play assists and 7 game winning goals.  This season, Simmonds finished 2nd overall on the team and 12th overall in the league in points.  Jordan was also a member of the 2012 EJHL South All Star Second Team. 

 

"Jordan could be the most talented player the Knights organization has seen," said Atlanta Knights Head Coach Scott Fankhouser. "In the two seasons he has been here, his development as a player and a person has been great to watch.  I look forward to seeing what he will do at the next level."

 

 

"The Knights got me where I am today - attending Wentworth next season," stated Simmonds.  "It would have been nice to win back to back National Titles, but the season was a great success."
 
Jordan Simmonds and fellow former Knight Jeremy Bost are both attending Wentworth as freshmen in the Fall of 2013. 

 

Wentworth Institute of Technology is located in Boston, MA.  The Leopards compete in the ECAC Northeast. 

The Atlanta Junior Knights origination is dedicated to developing student athletes as individuals and players, and to moving players to higher levels of hockey.  The coaching staff emphasizes discipline, dedication and maturity.  The Atlanta Junior Knights are two time EJHL South regular season champions, 2012 USA Hockey Tier III National champion, 2013 EJHL South playoff champion and 2013 USA Hockey Tier III National semifinalists.
