Whalers Captain Snyder Commits to Fitchburg State

The Hampton Roads Jr. Whalers are proud to announce that 1992 forward and team captain Cam Snyder from Kansas City, KS has committed to play NCAA college hockey for the Fitchburg State Falcons in the fall. Snyder wraps up two stellar seasons in the blue and green, in which he followed up a 36 point season in 2011-2012 by posting 25 goals and 35 assists, good for 60 points, 2nd overall on the team and 2nd overall in the league this season.  Snyder was deadly on the power play, posting 11 power play goals and 13 power play assists.  Cam also had 4 game winning goals for the Whalers.

"Cam has been a tremendous leader who set the standard for work ethic each and every day while wearing the blue and green", stated Whalers Owner Patrick Cavanagh.  "He will be remembered for years to come within our Whaler Nation community.  I fully expect four more years of excellence from him both on and off the ice while representing Fitchburg State".

"Cam has been a consummate teammate and leader for us the last two seasons", stated Head Coach Andy Newton. "Head Coach Dean Fuller and the Falcons program are not only getting a tremendous hockey player, but a kid with unmatched leadership and work ethic.  I look forward to watching Cam's continued growth at the collegiate level".

Fitchburg State is located in Fitchburg, MA.  They compete in the Massachusetts State College Athletic Conference (MASCAC).
