The Bristol Blues took down the Valley Blue Sox by a score of 9-4 to improve to 22-12 on the season and remain in first place in the South Division.

Mason Glickman got the start for Bristol and threw three shutout innings without allowing a hit.  The Blues would get on the board in the bottom of the third when Trevor Hansen (Manhattan), Luke Namura (Fairfield) and Joey Demucci (Penn State) strung together three straight base hits to put the Blues in front 3-0.

However, the Blue Sox offense came to life in the top of the fourth. Andrew Loikits (Wofford) blasted a double to left field and an error by Alex Irizarry (Quinnipiac) got the Blue Sox on the board to make it a 3-1 game. Later in the inning, an error by CJ Egrie (Holy Cross) made it 3-2 followed by a Hayden Perry (Samford) two-run home run to give Valley a 4-3 lead.

Bristol answered right back with another three-run inning in the bottom of the fourth to retake the lead 6-4. The Blues tacked on another run in the fifth off of a Thomas Ahlers (Dayton) sacrifice fly. Bristol scored two more in the seventh and went on to win the game.

Despite a rough fourth inning, Bristol looked completely dominant. The Blue Sox didn’t record a single hit outside of the fourth inning and the Bristol bats were firing away all game, recording 13 hits.

The Blues take on the Ocean State Waves in an away matchup Friday night first pitch is set for 6:30 p.m.
