Derby falls to Kansas Cannons 11-4

A walk-off left Derby Twins on the wrong end of a 7-6 defeat to Kingman Islanders on Monday. The game was tied at six in the bottom of the ninth when Nolan Freund singled, scoring one run.
Derby Twins got on the board in the top of the second inning after Kole Dudding hit a sacrifice fly, and Kade Sheldon singled to center field, each scoring one run.
Derby Twins scored two runs in the top of the fourth on a home run to center field by Kole Dudding.
Kingman Islanders tied the game in the bottom of the fourth thanks to an error, and a sacrifice fly by Karston Wall.
In the top of the fifth, Derby Twins broke up the tie when Noah Allison hit into a double play, but one run scored. Then an error followed to extend the lead to 6-4.
Kingman Islanders tied the game up in the bottom of the seventh thanks to two singles. Kingman Islanders tied the game at six on a single by Hayden Oviatt.
Kai Fitak stepped on the hill first for Derby Twins. The hurler surrendered five hits and four runs over three and one-third innings, striking out two and walking two. Cooper Tannahill opened the game for Kingman Islanders. The hurler allowed seven hits and six runs (five earned) over five innings, striking out none and walking four.
Derby Twins accumulated 10 hits in the game. Kole Dudding led Derby Twins with three runs batted in from the number seven spot in the lineup. The second baseman went 1-for-3 on the day. Leadoff hitter Cade Sutherland led Derby Twins with three hits in three at bats. Tyson Owens paced Derby Twins with three walks. Overall, the team had patience at the plate, piling up seven walks for the game. Cade Sutherland and Tyson Owens each stole multiple bases for Derby Twins. Derby Twins ran wild on the base paths, amassing five stolen bases for the game.
Kingman Islanders accumulated 10 hits in the game. Garryn Plummer led Kingman Islanders with three hits in five at bats. Kyle Reese and Hayden Oviatt each drove in two runs for Kingman Islanders. Luke Clayton collected two hits for Kingman Islanders in four at bats. Kingman Islanders had patience at the plate, piling up seven walks for the game.
