NEWPORT, R.I. - The Newport Gulls are rolling into the second half of the 2025 New England Collegiate Baseball League (NECBL) season with a league-best 18-7 record, fresh off a perfect 5-0 week. Newport enters the week with a multi-game lead over the Bristol Blues atop the Southern Division standings.

The Gulls open their busy week at Cardines Field on Monday, July 7th, hosting a doubleheader against Martha’s Vineyard. Game one begins at 3 p.m. and will pick up where it left off on June 6th, resuming in the top of the fourth with the Sharks leading 3-0 after the original contest was suspended due to fog. Game two, a seven-inning affair, starts at 6:35 p.m. Monday night is Inclusion Night at Cardines Field, with the first 300 fans receiving free flashlights courtesy of JFA Security. Players will wear Inclusion Night Jerseys that are being auctioned off right now! Here is the link to purchase a jersey: https://newport-gulls-ltd.square.site/?item=192&shipping=true. All proceeds to benefit the Rhode Island Social Skills Academy.

On Tuesday, July 8th, Newport travels to Bristol for a crucial showdown with the Blues at 6:30 p.m. Each home team has claimed victory in the first two meetings between the clubs this season.

The Gulls return to Cardines on Wednesday, July 9th, to face the Valley Blue Sox at 6:35 p.m. Wednesday’s contest is sponsored by RIDOT for Rhode Island Traffic Safety Night, with the first 250 fans receiving a free Newport Gulls adult T-shirt while supplies last.

After an off day on Thursday, Newport is back at Cardines Field on Friday, July 11th, for another matchup against the Bristol Blues. Friday is Yalanis Wealth Management American Heroes Night, with free admission for all police, fire and EMT personnel.

The Gulls wrap up the week in South Kingstown on Saturday, July 12th, for a meeting with the Ocean State Waves at 6:30 p.m. Newport is 2-1 against Ocean State so far this season and had a walk-off win in their most recent contest at Cardines.

With a hot streak and exciting promotions on tap, it’s the perfect time to catch the Newport Gulls in action as they chase another division title.

All home games will be streamed live on ESPN+ throughout the season.
