NEWPORT, RI — The next duo of Newport’s Solar Signings, powered by A1 Roofing, are LHPs, freshman Casen Murphy from Louisville and Penn State sophomore Matt Morash.

 

In his first season with the Cardinals, Murphy has pitched 16.1 innings as of the end of April and has been solid relief off the bench.

 

According to Perfect Game, the Missouri native is a top 10 LHP in the state, making him a large asset to the Gulls’ bullpen this summer.

 

Morash is 18 innings deep for the Nittany Lions so far, striking out 14 in his time on the mound. In his freshman season, Morash made 18 mound appearances and made three starts in 32 innings.
