Five Team Ontario Head Coaches get the tap from Team Canada

TORONTO, ON – November 1, 2024 - Team Ontario Lacrosse is pleased to announce that five current Team Ontario Head Coaches will be moving up to coach for Team Canada. Lyndsay Brooks, Rachael McKinnon, Skylar McArthur, Shelby O’Ryan and Jason Rudge will be moving to coaching positions with the new Lacrosse Canada development program and the Canada East Development teams in the 2025 season.

Lyndsay Brooks, Team Ontario U17 Women’s Field Head Coach, will be moving to the U17 Women’s Field East Team Canada Development Team as an assistant coach.  Lyndsay has been with the Team Ontario program for seven years, and Director of Scouting and Player Personnel for four years.

Rachael McKinnon, Team Ontario 2024 U19 Women’s Field Head Coach (fall program), and Team Ontario Assistant Coach of the U17 Girls 2025 Canada Summer Games Box Lacrosse team will be moving to the Head Coach position with the U15 Women’s Field East Team Canada Development Team. Rachael will be stepping down as the 2025 Canada Summer Games Assistant Coach to take up this position, as well as a staff position, with Lacrosse Canada.

Skylar McArthur, Team Ontario 2024 U19 Women’s Field Head Coach (National Championships), has been with our program for two years. Skylar is moving to the U15 Women’s Field East Team Canada Development Team as an assistant coach.

Shelby O’Ryan, Team Ontario U15 Women’s Field Head Coach, will be moving to the U15 Women’s Field East Team Canada Development Team as an assistant coach. Shelby has been the head coach of the U15 Women’s Field team for four years.

Jason Rudge, Team Ontario U17 Men’s Field Head Coach will be moving to the U17 Men’s Field East Team Canada Development Team as an assistant coach. Jason has been with the Team Ontario program for seven years with both U15 and U17 Men’s Field teams.

Team Ontario Lacrosse wishes the best for these hard working, knowledgeable and committed coaches in their new and exciting positions with Team Canada.  “All of these coaches have made great contributions to the Team Ontario Lacrosse program,” said Wendy Cuthbert, Team Ontario Lacrosse Director of Administration. “We are very proud of our coaches moving up to the national level, and we wish them every success. Although we are sad to see Lyndsay, Rachael, Skylar, Shelby and Jason leave the Team Ontario program, we are very happy for these coaches to move up through the coaching pathway to the national team level.”

Team Ontario is accepting applications for coaching positions for the 2025 program.  Coaches who are interested in gaining experience while coaching the top athletes in the Province of Ontario check out the applications on our website!

About Team Ontario Lacrosse
The Team Ontario Lacrosse program is the Provincial Team Program of the Ontario Lacrosse Association.  This is the high-performance program which operates all teams representing the Ontario Lacrosse Association as ‘all-star’ teams.  All OLA athletes who meet the eligibility criteria are entitled to try-out for Team Ontario teams, regardless of their point of origin.  Team Ontario teams will attend Canadian Lacrosse Association National Championship tournaments as well as CLA Invitational National Tournaments, and international tournaments deemed appropriate and supportive of the Team Ontario Program goals.
