Date: Oct 9, 2025
The 2024/2025 season began in late September as all six SECHL teams saw game action:
The defending champions, Army, opened the season hosting Marist in their first game of the season. Army earned their first win in league play downing the Red Foxes 5-3. Army also traveled to Boston University and Bryant last weekend and earned a key victory against Boston University and we are still waiting to hear the result of their game against Bryant.
Marist opened their season against an ACHA DIII opponent in St. Thomas Aquinas College and cruised to a 7-2 victory before facing Army and falling 5-3. The Red Foxes also split their series at Clarkson by rebounding with a 3-1 victory in the second game of the two game set, after being downed 11-0 on Friday night. Marist moved to 1-2-0 in league play and will face Sacred Heart this weekend.
Clarkson Split their opening league series with Marist with a convincing 11-0 opening game followed by a hard fought 3-1 loss with an empty net goal. Clarkson, prior to their home opener, earned a regulation win and an overtime loss in non league play.
Siena fell to NECHA opponent Roger Williams in their season opener in overtime 6-5. The Saints rallied from a 5-2 deficit to force overtime, but fell just short in completing their comeback. Siena will take on Providence College this weekend.
Sacred Heart opened their season with a win against one of the NECHA's top dogs, actually cats, as the Pioneers defeated UNH (Wildcats) 6-4. Sacred Heart will take on Marist this coming weekend in their SECHL opener.
Montclair State opened their season against ACHA DI opponent William Paterson, falling to the Pioneers 6-1 after allowing 4 goals in the first period the Red Hawks finished the game strong. Montclair also split their games the following weekend against the ACC powerhouse the University of Delaware earning a 3-2 victory at Rust Arena and falling 6-5 at home. The Red Hawks outshooting the Blue Hens 86-61 on the weekend earned the split. Montclair also took care of West Chester University 4-2 last weekend, moving them to 2-2-0 on the season. Montclair State will face Stockton this coming weekend before they take on Army and Siena the weekend of 10/11.
