2025-2026 D1 Schedule Released
Date: Jul 7, 2025
(Anthony Oliveri takes a faceoff during the Red Hawks matchup Versus West Chester)
- Little Falls, NJ
MSU remembers well the game versus Army last season when their bus arrived fifteen minutes before the scheduled start time and Army took advantage in the first period. The Red Hawks were on the beneficiary end this time around when West Chester University's bus was late getting to the arena. MSU took advantage early, taking a lead when freshman, Robert Quinn netted his first college goal to give MSU an early 1-0 lead. Anthony Oliveri increased the Red Hawk lead to 2-0 in the 2nd period and the lead held until West Chester cut the lead in half late in the period. Antonio Crispino answered to give the Red Hawks their two goal cushion back which MSU took into the intermission.
West Chester wasted little time cutting the lead in half once again within the first two minutes of the 3rd. The Rams looked to be taking control of the game, but Cam Carmon made some fantastic saves including on a 5 minute major PK to preserve the lead. Instead of West Chester taking advantage of the power play, Anthony Oliveri was able to score a shorthanded goal with six minutes remaining to gain back the two goal lead. West Chester pulled the goaltender for the extra man, but MSU was able to hold on and earn their first home win of the season and move to 2-2-0 on the year. The Red Hawks return home next week to take on Stockton Friday at 8:30.
