The SFCBL Signs Deal with Marucci  - Written by Beka Haddad

        Recently, the South Florida Collegiate Baseball League signed a deal with Marucci Sports. This deal is especially important because it places the players in the SFCBL a step ahead by giving them access to the same equipment and apparel that is “number one in the Big Leagues.” The SFCBL is excited to begin this partnership. President Larry Alintoff says “The Marucci collaboration with the SFCBL continues our commitment to align with premium brands that allow the players in our community to elevate their performance to the highest level.”

            Anyone who knows baseball knows that the name “Marucci” is synonymous with excellence. Marucci was founded in 2003 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana by former San Francisco Giants and Baltimore Orioles pitcher Kurt Ainsworth, former Toronto Blue Jays second baseman Joe Lawrence, and their athletic trainer Jack Marucci. All were committed to creating the perfect bat. They aim to provide players at all levels the right tools to meet their needs and be successful at all levels. Their commitment to quality allowed propelled them from being a backyard business in a garage workshop to becoming the most premier equipment brand in baseball. 

Marucci has outfitted many college programs with what they need to succeed; for example, helping big name division I programs, such as LSU, become the top hitting teams in the NCAA last season. Their equipment is also used by familiar big leaguers such as Albert Pujols, Jose Bautista, Chase Utley, David Ortiz, Andrew McCutchen, Anthony Rizzo, Francisco Lindor, and Buster Posey to name a few. Recently, Marucci has been represented in both the MLB All-Star Game and the World Series. 

This summer, SFCBL players will have access to some of the best wood bats in baseball today, such as the bats that they design with Victus, a company that they acquired back in 2017. The Pro Model wood bats are made with the highest craftsmanship and quality. The models are inspired by the pros and are specially designed to help players blow bombs out of the park on gameday. 

As important as it is for the players to have a high-quality bat, it is also important for them to have a secure grip.
