It was a great way to start the year for Jr. Hurricanes assistant captain Maxine Cimoroni who was selected to the Under-18 National Team back in Decemeber. Max, along with the rest of Team Canada, headed to Zug, Switzerland to compete in the IIHF World Championship. Team Canada went 3-0 in round robin play, beat Team Switzerland in the quarter finals and would take a heartbreaking loss to Team Czechia in the semi finals, a first in tournament history. 

Despite this, Canada bounced back and took a commanding win over Team Finland for bronze. Max finished the touranment with 3 points in 6 games (2 G and 1A). Max is eligible to return to Team Canada next season where the world championship will be held in Vantaa, Finland, Jan. 5-12, 2025.
