INTERNATIONAL SILVER STICK CHAMPS!

The U15 Rep B Leitrim Hawks are taking home the gold in this years International Silver Stick in Forest Ontario. After winning the Pembroke Regional Silver Stick Qualifier in late November the Hawks gained entrance into the prestigious International Silver Stick finals the weekend of January 5th. On day one, after a hard fought win over Parry Sound in game #1 the Hawks lost a thriller to the #10 ranked team in Ontario, the South Huron Sabres by a score of 4-3. The game was decided via a unique robin format where games are played using a 3 v 3 OT format. On day two, the Hawks secured 2 wins over a team from Denver Colorado and the Lambton Shores Predators. The Hawks moved on to the Championship round in a tie breaker scenario and were given a bye to the Championship Final. In the Championship Final the Hawks once again met up with the South Huron Sabres. It was another excellent and close hockey game with neither team giving up an ich but this time the Hawks came out victorious with a 5-4 victory. It was an amazing experience for all the players, coaches and parents watching as they battled teams from all over Ontario and the US. Congratulations to all of the U15 Leitrim Rep B Hawks players who worked so hard to accomplish this goal. They made memories this weekend that will last a lifetime.
