Date:  Source: Mississauga Jr Hurricanes

The Jr. Hurricanes hosted their 3rd Annual Pink in the Rink game on Oct 28th to raise money and awareness for breat cancer research. This cause has been near and dear to the team and year after year the event has gotten bigger. A huge thank you goes out to all of the volunteers who helped run the event. A special thank you to our sponsor Hughes Decorr who donated a pair of Leafs tickets for our chuck-a-puck prize.

The Jr. Hurricanes took on the Brampton Jr. Canadettes for the second time that week after escaping with a 2-1 win on the Thursday night. In this rematch, Olivia Fantino opened the scoring in the first period followed up by a goal from Ashley Klemens. The second period ended with the Jr. Hurricanes up 3-2. The scoring opened up in the third period with 4 unasnswered Mississauga goals and a hat trick for Jr. Hurricanes captain Olivia Fantino. The final score was 7-2. We were also proud to host the U15 HL team for a home game experience.

Most importantly, the event raised $1000 for the Canadian Cancer Society! A big thanks to all who supported the event!
