Milton Menace Preview: Menace at Collingwood Blues - March 4, 2023

We’ve made it to the end of the OJHL regular season as the Milton Menace will play their final game on Saturday before the playoffs. The team will be in Collingwood to take on the conference-leading Blues.

The Menace are looking to end their season on a high note after a tough 6-1 loss to Burlington on Wednesday. Joseph Meleca picked up the lone Menace goal with assists from Nick Wereha and Tristan Tremble.

The team will be without defencemen Cory Liu and Cole Semeniuk as they serve the one-game suspensions they picked up in Wednesday’s game.

The Menace sit fifth in the North/East conference with 66 points. Their record after 53 games is 31-18-2-2.

The Blues come into this game off a 3-2 win in Lindsay on Monday. They have won their last four straight games. They will still have one more game to play after Saturday’s before their regular season is complete. Collingwood is first in the North/West Conference with a record of 42-9-0-1.

Saturday will be the teams’ fifth meeting of the season and the third time they’ll play each other since Jan. 21. Collingwood won the first two games, but Milton came out victorious in meetings three and four. Saturday’s game will decide who wins the season series as the teams sit at two wins per side.

It will be important for the Menace to show well on Saturday as this will be their last opportunity to make adjustments before game one of the playoffs. This game will be a great test against a strong Blues team who they have played well against this season.

Puck drop at Eddie Bush Arena in Collingwood is scheduled for 3:00 pm. The game will be streamed live on Hockey TV.
