Milton Menace Preview: Menace at Collingwood Blues - February 19, 2023
It’s another Sunday game day for the Milton Menace as they head to Collingwood to take on the conference-leading Blues.
The Menace will be looking to return to the win column after a 3-2 loss on Friday against Trenton. Carson Burlington and Aidan Hughes picked the Menace goals. Burlington’s goal was his first career OJHL goal.
Myles Perry and Jared Coccimiglio extended their point streaks to four games with five points over that span. Hughes is also riding a three-game point streak with six points since Feb.10. He leads the team in scoring with 73 points in 48 games this season.
The Blues also come into this game off a Friday night loss, falling 4-3 to St. Michael’s on home ice. It was their second loss in a row. The Blues sit first in the North/West Conference with 77 points.
This will be the teams fourth of five meetings this season. Milton came out victorious with a 3-1 win on their last trip to Collingwood three weeks ago. The Blues lead the season series 2- 1.
Both of Collingwood’s special teams units rank in the league's top half. The Menace penalty kill ranks sixth, while their power play has dropped to 11th. It will be important for the Menace to minimize their penalties and take advantage when they are up a man. The Menace went 0-7 on the power play against Trenton, which made a massive difference in the loss. They must improve on this when taking on a top team like the Blues.
Puck drop is scheduled for 2:00 pm at Eddie Bush Arena in Collingwood. The live stream will be available on Hockey TV.
