Milton Menace Preview: Menace vs Oakville Blades - February 12, 2023
The Milton Menace will look to finish out their weekend on a high note when the Oakville Blades come to town for a Sunday afternoon meeting.
Milton’s last game was a 5-4 loss in Burlington on Friday night. Milton outshot Burlington 51-35 and grabbed two power play markers from Dylan McFadden and Lucas Buzziol. The other two Menace goals came from Aidan Hughes and Justin O’Donnell. Owen Forester picked up two assists in the loss.
The Menace now sit fifth in the North/West Conference with 57 points and a record of 27-16-1-2. They are just one point behind Pickering who is in fourth.
Oakville comes into this game off Thursday night’s 7-2 road win in Brantford. The Blades sit tenth in the North/West Conference with a record of 15-29-1-1.
Sunday’s game will be the final meeting of the regular season between Oakville and Milton. The Menace lead 3-1 in the season series. Oakville took a 2-1 win in the last game between the teams on Jan. 20. Forester scored the lone Menace goal in the game and the team recorded 60 shots against the Blades.
The Menace will need to continue to push their offence and make the most of those scoring chances. Oakville averages 4.11 goals against per game so capitalizing when there is opportunity is vital to Milton’s success. That will be the difference in Sunday’s game.
Puck drop is set for 2:00 pm on Sunday at Milton Memorial Arena. If you can’t be in the stands to cheer the Menace on, catch the game on Hockey TV.
