Milton Menace Preview: Menace at North York Rangers- February 8, 2023
The Milton Menace are back at it on Wednesday when they head to North York to play the Rangers in their first of three games this week. The Menace come into this afternoon game off back-to-back losses last weekend.
Milton came up just short on Sunday, losing 4-3 in Markham and will be looking to change their luck against the Rangers. Nick Wereha led the Menace with a shorthanded goal and an assist in the loss. Tristan Tremble and Ivan Fabjan picked up the other two Menace goals.
The Menace now sit fifth in the North/West Conference with 55 points and a record of 26-15-1-2. They are in a tight race with Pickering, who sits just one point ahead; however, the Menace still hold one game in hand. With just ten games remaining in the regular season, every point Milton can grab is consequential to the standings.
The Rangers come into this game off a 9-1 home loss to Trenton on Sunday. Their leading scorer, Riley Patterson, has 66 points in 44 games this season. They sit eighth in the South/East Conference with 38 points and a regular season record of 16-24-3-3.
As the Menace and Rangers are in different conferences, Wednesday’s game will be the first and only meeting between the teams this season. In order to come out of this game with a win, it’ll be important for the Menace to get back to their game and prioritize their defensive zone.
Puck drop will come at 2:30 PM from Herbert Carnegie Centennial Centre in North York. If you can’t attend in person, the game will be available to stream live on Hockey TV.
