As the Pirates continue to have a historic season, the team would have one final test prior to the end of the first semester. The Pirates would face Rutgers University in their second and final matchup of the year against the Scarlet Knights at Bridgewater Sports Arena. Coming into the game, the Pirates were on a tear winning their last four with a combined score of 25-5.

The Pirates would once again prove their offensive dominance and show no issue putting the puck in the back of the net. In the first period, Cameron Toussaint, Nicholas Serapiglia, and James Griffin would each pot one in for the Pirates as the team would own the first 3 goals of the game.

In the second, the Pirates would continue to dominate as Toussaint and Griffin would each score their second of the game. Michael Mascolo and John Anselmo would also place one behind the goalie to make it a 7-0 game.

As the game entered the third period, Tyler Fearon would open the scoring only thirteen seconds into the period. Cameron Adamec would record his fourth assist of the night on Fearon’s goal. Although the game was out of reach, Rutgers would score two of their own late into the third on the powerplay. Pirates’ goaltender, Joseph Yutsus would end the night with a superb 36 saves on 38 shots and record his fourth win of the year.

With the first semester coming to a close, the 12-1 Seton Hall Pirates own sole possession of first place in the Colonial States College Hockey Conference. The team has been an offensive threat all year and just as lethal on the defensive side. James Griffin and Tyler Fearon each have over 30 points and the team holds a +37-goal differential in the CSCHC standings. The Pirates will return to Codey Arena to face the University of Scranton on January 21st at 9:30 PM.
