The Siena Saints swept their two-game SECHL weekend earning a 5-3 win over CCSU and a 2-1 victory against Sacred Heart. These two regulation wins propelled the Saints into second place in the standings. Siena is also the only team to blemish 1st place Army's nearly perfect record as the Saints took the Knights into overtime earlier this season. The Knights would eventually win in overtime, but not before Siena took one point off the table in doing so.
Army earned back-to-back 3-1 victories against Montclair State in a home-and-home series this weekend as well. Army has pulled away a bit in the standings as 7 points separate them and Siena in the standings with one more game played than the Saints. All eyes will be on Saturday evenings game between Army and Sacred Heart as the Pioneers look to rebound from last weekend's tight loss to Siena.
Central Connecticut and Marist played an excellent game in Poughkeepsie on Friday that needed overtime to determine the outcome. While the Blue Devils would tie the game at 5 late in the third period, Marist would receive a goal from Nick Siciliano in the extra frame to take the game 6-5 in favor of the Red Foxes.
