OJHL’S 2022-23 REGULAR SEASON SCHEDULE ANNOUNCED

July 27, 2022, Mississauga, ON – The Ontario Junior Hockey League (OJHL) today released its 2022-23 regular season schedule – and confirmed dates for its annual Governors' Showcase and All-Star Celebration.

The 2022-23 season opens Thursday, Sept. 8, with the Milton Menace visiting the Caledon Admirals. 

The defending OJHL Buckland Cup champion and Centennial Cup finalist Pickering Panthers play their home opener Sept. 23 against the Brantford 99ers.

The regular season ends March 5 with one game. It’s a repeat of last season’s championship series with Pickering visiting the defending OJHL regular season champion Toronto Jr. Canadiens. 

The OJHL is returning to its two-conference alignment this season with the top eight teams in each conference qualifying for the playoffs. Inter-conference, crossover games return for the 2022-23 season. The conferences, North/West and South/East, remain the same. 

The Buffalo Jr. Sabres of the West Division are taking a leave of absence from the OJHL for a third season.

Highlights of the 2022-23 schedule include:

• Opening night – Thursday, Sept. 8 – the Milton Menace travel to Mayfield Arena to play the host Caledon Admirals. Eighteen games will be played during opening weekend, Sept. 9-11.

• Annual Governors' Showcase to be held from Sept. 19-21 at the Cobourg Community Centre. The event attracts hundreds of NHL, NCAA, U SPORTS and OHL scouts.

• The OJHL All-Star Celebration weekend will be played Jan. 13 and 14, 2023 in Collingwood, ON.

• 2022 World Junior 'A' Challenge will be held from Dec. 11-18, 2022 in Cornwall, ON.

• 2023 Centennial Cup, National Junior 'A' Championship will be played in Portage la Prairie, MB in May. Dates to be announced.
