GMU was on the road this weekend traveling to both Robert Morris University and West Virginia University. GMU sweeps the weekend with a 5-3 win over RMU and 4-2 win over WVU.

On Friday, RMU started off very strong. RMU’s first goal was waived by the refs as the net had been moved off. Shortly thereafter, the puck was passed up to the point and shot over goaltender, Lukas Heuberger's shoulder. RMU scored another goal with 5 minutes left in the first. The puck was slapped at the boards which rebounded right across the crease and was tipped in. Raymond Booth gets GMU on the scoreboard when the puck is turned over in the offensive zone. Booth takes a wrist shot that flew in over the goalie’s shoulder.

The second period sees another goal from RMU bringing the score to 3-1. The momentum does not begin to shift until the Patriots get back on the ice for the third period. The Patriots won their faceoff passing the puck back to Chandler Lynch who slid it across ice to Quinn Alley. Alley skates up and takes a wrist shot that makes it past RMU’s goalie. GMU wins the faceoff to gain control of the puck in the offensive zone that was crucial to their next goal. Kael Dillon passes the puck across to Drew Tsakounis who takes a wrist shot from the top of the faceoff circle. Joe Petite is out front for the rebound and scores GMU’s third goalThese were both powerplay goals. With 4 minutes left in the period, Joe Petite battles for control of the puck against the boards behind RMU’s net. Petite gains control and throws the puck up front to Matt Price who snipes the puck right over the goaltender's pad. In the last few seconds of the game, Quinn Alley clears the puck from our defensive zone. Miranda follows the puck to gain possession and takes a wrister to score an empty-net goal. Freshman goaltender, Lukas Heuberger saw a total of 27 shots on goal and saved 24.

On Saturday, the first period was even matched, back and forth between each team's offensive zones. Starting goaltender, Johnathan Verity, makes an impressive 2 on 0 save. West Virginia is the first on the scoreboard in this matchup. The puck was passed from the left corner to the slot, and WVU’s forward was able to net a wrist shot. The second period saw WVU in our defensive zone for most of the first 10 minutes in the period. GMU gains some hefty momentum later in the period. Kael Dillon gets the team on the scoreboard with a wrist shot that goes in 5-hole. Dillon later passes the puck up in front of the net to Dmitriy Ignatov who tips the puck in. With 2:57 left, Aleksei Karpov throws the puck out to the slot which is netted by Ryder Clarke with a wrist shot over the shoulder. Ray Booth fights for control of the puck in the corner, wins, wraps around the net and shoots. Kael Dillon is there for the rebound and scores bringing us to a 4-1 lead. In the third period WVU scored two more goals, but we held them off enough to secure the win. Freshman goaltender Johnathan Verity stopped a total of 21 shots in the 60-minute game
