The Collingwood Blues are excited to announce the acquisitions at this year's trade deadline. "The goal was to improve our hockey club the second half of the season and we feel we have done that. Vlad & Taylor will make an immediate impact upfront and Eamon and Pearce were both top D on their previous teams. We thought adding some veteran experience upfront and to the D core would strengthen an already good group. We look forward to this group taking a positive step in the second half of the season" - said Blues GM, Mike Tarantino.
Vlad Dvurchenskii - Vlad comes back to the Blues after spending the first half of the season with the Barrie Colts (OHL). Vlad previously played for the Blues in 2018-2019 and the staff is excited to add someone with Vlad's ability.
Taylor Barnett - Taylor joins the Blues after spending his first two and half seasons with Mississauga (OJHL) where he was a leader on and off the ice. 2002 born forward will look to make an immediate impact on the Blues lineup. "Taylor plays the game the right way, he plays with an edge, competes, and never takes a shift off. We are excited to add a player with Taylor's skill set and leadership to our group" said Blues GM, Mike Tarantino.
Eamon Fitzpatrick - Eamon joins the Blues similar to Taylor after spending his first few years in the OJHL with Mississauga (OJHL). The 2001 born defenceman has been steady on the back end throughout his career and will look to bring those same attributes to Collingwood. “Eamon brings a veteran presence to our back end, with 4 years of Jr experience under his belt we are looking forward to him helping us in what we are hoping will be a lengthy playoff run this season. We would like to welcome Eamon and his family to Collingwood.” expressed Director of Hockey Operations Jordan Sellinger.
Pearce Baker - Pearce joins the Blues coming from Stouffville where he spent his entire junior career. the 2001 Left Defenceman was a leader on Stouffville's back end and we feel he will provide the same attributes to the Blues team. “ "We're excited to add a veteran defenseman like Pearce to our roster. He adds another level of leadership and confidence with and without the puck. Pearce strives for success, has a fantastic work ethic and will fit right in with our current group." says Head Coach Andrew Campoli.
The Blues have moved 2003 forward Cole Hipkin to Bonnyville (AJHL) for a package of future players. 2003 Defenceman Anthony Bax has joined Connecticut in the NCDC in the USA. The Blues would like to thank both Cole and Anthony for their contributions to Collingwood and wish them the best in their future hockey careers.
